Thursday night was reserved for Europa League quarterfinals. After the first fixtures, Arsenal players almost secured their progress to the semis, while Atletico Madrid and Lazio have excellent positions before the rematches. It seems as though the only matchup with thrill is going to be the one between RB Leipzig and Olympique Marseille.

Gunners demolished CSKA from Moscow with 4-1 at Emirates. That result was active at the end of the first 45 minutes. It was appearing that the guests are going to be annihilated because Arsenal could have scored at least two more times.

Atletico Madrid routinely defeated Sporting Lisboa with 2-0. The scenario was the same like in London. Two quick goals and the job was done already after the first half.

Lazio had many problems against stubborn RB Salzburg, but in the end, Simone Inzaghi’s team managed to gain a respectable advantage before the rematch, 4-2.

Toughest game of the night was seen in Germany, where RB Leipzig won minimally against Marseille, 1-0. It was an open match with chances on both sides, but the hosts had more luck.

The home ground advantage was crucial tonight since all four hosts recorded wins. Is that going to be the same in seven days time, we are going to know next Thursday night.
