Former Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman will now be on the market for both a new team and a new agent. According to NFL Network’s Mike Silver, Freeman has parted ways with his longtime agent Kristin Campbell.

Silver reports that Campbell was the one who initiated the termination of collaboration with Freeman. According to sources, the two sides disagreed about the player’s free agency strategy.

Campbell previously secured Freeman a five-year, $41.25 million contract extension with Atlanta in 2017, which made the 28-year-old the highest-paid running back in the league.

After playing just two games in 2018 due to injuries, Freeman returned to make 14 games for Falcons last season. However, he performed below expectations and rushed for just 656 yards and two touchdowns. Atlanta ended up releasing him in March, bringing in three-time Pro Bowler Todd Gurley as his replacement.

Several NFL teams were interested in Devonta Freeman this offseason, but he reportedly didn’t find the offers satisfying enough. One of those offers was one-year, $4 million contract from Seattle Seahawks.

Freeman previously stated that he would be willing to sit out the year or even retire if he doesn’t find a team that will meet his demands.
