Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner will be playing for the Los Angeles Rams next season. The LA team announced the news on Thursday night, revealing that the eight-time Pro Bowler inked a five-year agreement with the franchise.

The deal, which keeps Wagner in the NFC West, is reportedly worth $50 million. In addition, the 31-year-old will be able to increase his earnings by another $15 million if he meets all incentives.

Wagner represents a new addition to an already formidable defense that features three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year in Aaron Donald and arguably the league’s best cornerback in Jalen Ramsey. The Los Angeles-native emerged as a key target in free agency for the Rams after the team failed to keep star OL Von Miller.

Despite remaining unsigned deep in the free agency, Bobby Wagner reportedly had his pick of teams. Multiple contenders were interested in adding him, including the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys, but ultimately the opportunity to play in his hometown was too good to pass.

Wagner spent his first 10 seasons in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks. During that time, he helped the franchise win Super Bowl XLVIII while emerging as one of the best players on his position. Aside from eight Pro Bowls, he also made the First-Team All-Pro six times and was selected to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
