The former two-time world champion in two weight classes, Zab Judah, ended up in the hospital after losing to Cletus Seldin on Saturday during a boxing match that took place at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona. This fight, which was Judah’s first fight after a pause of 17 months, was really aggressive and stopped in the 11th round.
The 41-year-old ex-champion seemed alright, but early in the morning of the next day, he had to be taken to a hospital. According to ESPN’s report, he had suffered a brain hemorrhage and needed urgent medical attention. During the evening of the same day, the promoters of the fight stated that the boxer was awake, regained his ability to communicate and is making significant progress.
Star Boxing released a tweet saying that although the family members of the athlete truly appreciate everyone’s concern, they are requesting privacy and that they are all praying for him. Many famous fighters, both retired and active, have tweeted well wishes about Judah.
The fight with Cletus Seldin was Judah’s third fight since 2013. Together with this fight, he has a total of 44 wins and 10 losses since the start of his career.
