Despite entering his 13th season as a pro, Atlanta Falcons’ signal-caller Matt Ryan isn’t tired of football. As a matter of fact, Ryan hopes he’ll still be playing in 2028.

Ryan recently had a chat with #PFTPM and, at one point, was asked to share his opinion on the longevity of his rival QBs in NFC South, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees. Entering 2020, Brady will be 43 years old, while Brees is 41.

“I’d like to chase those guys,” said Ryan, who turned 35 in May. “I feel good. My body feels good. I’m still as excited about this as ever. I still feel like I’m playing really good football. And I feel like my best is still in front of me.”

According to Ryan, he also wants to play into his 40s.

“I’m doing everything I can to ensure that I can play as long as I can go. And so I’m excited about that,” he added. “Hopefully, I can be 43 and sitting here having this same interview with you about being excited for an upcoming season.”

Since entering the league as Atlanta Falcons’ third overall pick in 2008, Matt Ryan started all but three regular games. He won the NFL MVP award in 2016, has four career Pro Bowls and holds several NFL records.

Ryan’s career stats include 65.4 completion percentage with 51,186 passing yards and 321 passing touchdowns.
