Outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney seems more likely to leave Houston Texans with each passing day. After it was reported earlier in the week that Miami Dolphins are interested in acquiring Clowney, four other teams have joined the pursuit for the 26-year-old Pro Bowler.

According to Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson, Texans have engaged in Clowney trade talks with Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and Washington Redskins in recent days.

Out of all mentioned teams, Dolphins advanced the furthest and are considered to be the favorites to land the player. The issue here is that Clowney might not be willing to sign an extension with Miami, as he isn’t psyched about their lack of competitiveness.

Redskins are believed to have the slimmest chance in this race, as they are not willing to include their Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams in these talks.

Eagles and Seahawks, on the other hand, might emerge as frontrunners if they present an enticing offer to the Texans since Jadeveon Clowney would reportedly be interested in signing a long-term deal with these franchises.

While Houston is expected to continue talks with potential suitors for Clowney, they can’t trade him until he signs his franchise tag. Whether that will happen anytime soon, it remains to be seen.
