The legendary Argentinian football player in FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi, is currently the highest paid athlete in the whole world. With his earnings topping $127m in the last twelve months, as reported by Forbes, the superstar has been a multi-millionaire in his own right for a while now.

Second on the list is the football superstar from Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo, who is currently playing in the Italian team Juventus. He earned a dazzling amount of $109m from June 2018 to June 2019.

The third place belongs to 27-year-old Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain F.C., who made $105m in the last year.

There is only one woman in the entire list of 100 highest paid athletes in the world. You’ve guessed it – it’s the world-famous tennis champion Serena Williams, who occupies the 63rd place with $29.2m on her account.

Still, there is a tennis player in the top ten names on the list and that is of course Roger Federer, who takes the 5th place with €93.4 m.

The NFL holds the 6th place with Russel Willson’s $89.5m, followed by Aaron Rodgers with $89.3m.

Next comes the NBA with LeBron James, who holds the 8th place. Stephen Curry comes in ninth, while Kevin Durant is tenth on the list.
