Geronimo Allison’s time with Green Bay Packers has come to an end, but the veteran wideout won’t be leaving NFC North. According to reports, Allison agreed to a one-year deal with the Detroit Lions.

Allison reportedly inked a veteran’s minimum contract, which will bring him $910,000 in salary. The 26-year-old, however, should earn slightly more than $1 million, as he will also get a $137,500 signing bonus.

Geronimo Allison tested the free agency last season as well, but the Packers ended up re-signing him to a one-year deal. Packers expected him to take the No.2 receiver spot behind Pro Bowler Davante Adams in 2019, but Allison never managed to make that leap.

Allison played all 16 games last year but only caught 34 passes for 287 yards and two touchdowns. He also had problems with dropping passes, which eventually cost him snaps towards the end of the season.

Lions have their WR depth chart almost set, with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and Danny Amendola expected to get the majority of the snaps in 2020. Allison will probably end up playing the backup role and might see his chance in case one of the starters gets injured. There could be also a place for him on special teams.
