Unbelievably, the Gareth Bale-Real Madrid saga seems to have taken yet another shocking twist.

After confirmation from coach Zinedine Zidane and from the club that they were actively looking to move on without the Welsh forward, the team has now evidently decided to keep Bale around against the French coach’s wishes.

After agreeing in principle to a deal with Jiangsu Suning which would’ve sent Bale to the Chinese Super League on a three-year contract, the Spanish club has apparently gotten cold feet and called off the move.

It’s yet another stunning turn in a series of events that have created plenty of drama and tension for the La Liga giants.

After an injury to Marco Asensio and the departure of Dani Ceballos on loan to Arsenal, it’s started to look more and more like Real Madrid couldn’t afford to lose more offensive players. This could be one of the driving factors in the club’s apparent reversal. There’s no doubt, however, that this creates a tense environment in which the coach of the team for which Bale plays doesn’t want him around.

Keep an eye on this story as it develops throughout the rest of the summer because it surely hasn’t reached its conclusion.
