Georgia’s standout defensive tackle Jalen Carter is positive that he will hear his name called out early in the 2023 NFL Draft. This is why he doesn’t intend to have any visits with teams that are not selecting in the top 10.

Carter’s decision was confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter by his agent Drew Rosenhaus.

“I’m confident Jalen will go in the top 10,” Rosenhaus told Schefter. “He’s a good person, a family man, loves football, and is a generational talent.”

Carter already had a visit with the Philadelphia Eagles, who are selecting at No. 10, and is planning a visit to the Chicago Bears, who own the No. 9 pick. It is unclear whether the Apopka, Florida native intends to visit all of the remaining eight teams with top 10 picks.

Many draft analysts saw Jalen Carter as one of the best players in the 2023 class and someone who could possibly be selected in the top 5 in this year’s draft. However, the 21-year-old player faces serious legal issues earlier in the year, causing his draft stock to plummet. Still, there is a belief that teams will not overlook his talent despite off-the-field problems and will still select him with a high pick.

Carter played three years of college football with Georgia. He helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships while earning Unanimous All-American honors in 2022.
