Pro Bowl wideout Kenny Golladay is the latest free agent to score a big deal on an open market. The 27-year-old player will spend the next four years with the New York Giants, who signed him to a contract worth $72 million over the weekend.

The franchise confirmed the move on social media, posting a brief video in which Golladay addresses the Giants fans.

After the deal became official, Golladay told reporters that the decision to sign with the Giants “was kind of like a no-brainer”.

“I’m going to go out there and do all I can to help this offense go,” he added. “Whenever they need me, I’m going to be there.”

Kenny Golladay was one of the most prominent wide receivers to hit the market this offseason. Several teams made an aggressive run to sign him, including the Cincinnati Bengals, the Chicago Bears, and the Baltimore Ravens. But the Giants came in with the best offer and convinced him to come to New York.

Besides the money, Golladay was attracted by the fact that he will be an undisputed No. 1 wideout with the Giants. Also, the organization showed a great effort to land him, with several players reaching out to recruit him, including quarterback Daniel Jones and safety Jabrill Peppers.

Golladay, a third-round pick in 2017, spent the first four years of his career with Detroit Lions. He managed to get 183 catches for 3,068 yards and 21 touchdowns during his time there while earning a Pro Bowl nod in 2019.
