New York Giants keep on adding quarterbacks to their roster. The team announced on Tuesday that they had claimed signal-caller Cooper Rush of waivers, bringing the number of QB on their roster to five. In a corresponding move, Giants released wideout Reggie White.

Rush was placed on waivers last week by Dallas Cowboys after the team signed veteran QB Andy Dalton. He will reunite in New York with former Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garret, who joined Giants as an offensive coordinator in the offseason.

Cooper Rush signed with Cowboys in 2017 as an undrafted free agent and spent the last three seasons backing up Dak Prescott. The 26-year-old made a total of two appearances during his time in Dallas, completing one pass out of three attempts for two yards. He also rushed 13 yards.

Rush joins the Giants on a one-year, $2.1 million deal that he got after signing restricted free-agent tender with Cowboys earlier this year. However, none of the money in the deal is guaranteed.

New York Giants already had a crowded QB room that consists out of a second-year signal-caller and starter Daniel Jones, veterans Alex Tanney and Colt McCoy and rookie Case Cookus, who recently signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.

Considering that NFL teams usually keep two or three QBs on the roster, Giants will presumably use the training camp to pick one or two from the bunch will get to back up Jones.
