The Washington Commanders running back Antonio Gibson is expected to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants after being listed as questionable due to a foot injury. The player had limited involvement in Washington’s practice sessions all week.

Gibson is the Commanders’ leading rusher with 476 yards on 130 carries across 12 games this season. He has also recorded three touchdowns and no fumbles. The 24-year-old player also proved vital in Washington’s 19-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons last weekend, with 32 yards on nine carries and three receptions for 22 yards.

Although Gibson’s inclusion will provide the Commanders with a much-needed boost, the team is still awaiting news on defensive end Chase Young, who was also listed as questionable for the game due to battling a knee injury. Although Young is expected to engage in a pregame workout to determine his ability to perform on Sunday, there is a chance that he will sit out as the Commanders’ bye next week would give him two weeks to recover.

Should Young appear in Sunday’s game, it would be his season debut. He made 26 tackles and two forced fumbles in nine games last season.
