Manchester United owners Joel and Avram Glazer are hopeful that they will be able to secure the external investment that they need in order to retain ownership in the Premier League club, a source claimed on Tuesday.
Last November, the Glazer family announced that it would be exploring “all strategic alternatives, including new investment into the club, a sale, or other transactions,” in an effort to generate the funds required to transform the team and upgrade Old Trafford stadium, which has been overlooked as a venue for the joint United Kingdom and Ireland bid to host Euro 2028.
Currently, there are several parties who have submitted bids to buy Man Utd from the Glazers. They include a group led by Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani as well as British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the founder of the INEOS chemical company and Britain’s richest man.
The Raine Group, the firm overseeing the bidding process on behalf of the club, has set an April 28 deadline for the third round of bids on the club.
