Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has withdrawn from the Norway squad after picking up a groin injury, the Norweigan FA announced on Tuesday. He will miss Norway’s upcoming games against Spain and Georgia as a result.

Haaland suffered the injury during Man City’s 6-0 win over Burnley during their FA Cup quarterfinal game on Saturday. The 22-year-old came off in the 60th minute after scoring a hat-trick on the night.

While Haaland initially joined up with the Norway squad in the hope of playing in his nation’s upcoming Euro 2024 qualifying games, his hopes were soon dashed upon being assessed by the team’s medical staff.
