Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has displayed confidence in his side’s ability to challenge for the Premier League title this season by calling out rivals and current champions Liverpool.

Kane explained that, due to the strength and depth of the squad, Tottenham Hotspur has what it takes to win the league title this season. He also discussed just how close Spurs had come to a title win over the past few seasons, managing to clinch a top-four spot on several occasions. The North London club came closest to a Premier League victory in 2016-17 when they finished in second place behind Chelsea.

The Spurs star also stated how he believes that no club will run away with the title this season as Liverpool did in 2019-20. He did, however, have a warning for his team: “We’ve got to make sure we don’t get carried away either. We know we’ve been playing well – and the last two games have been good for confidence, to grind out results and get ugly wins. That’s what we’re going to need.”

While Spurs got the season off to a slow start, they have enjoyed a great run of form as of late, defeating West Brom 1-0 away from home on Sunday. It was Kane who grabbed the win for Tottenham, scoring in the 88th minute.
