Harry Kane got himself a hat trick as Bayern Munich stormed to an 8-0 victory over SV Darmstadt 98 in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
Bayern’s match got off to a tough start when Joshua Kimmich was shown a red card after he pulled down Marwin Mehlem at the edge of the box, blocking what was a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Their one-man deficit wouldn’t last long, however, as Klaus Gjasula was sent off in the 21st minute when he brought down Konrad Laimer. Four minutes before the break, Darmstadt was down to nine when Matej Maglica fouled Kane, who was about to sprint clear of the defense.
While the teams went into the break goalless, Bayern made the most of their one-man advantage, with Kane scoring a goal from his own half en route to a hat-trick. Leroy Sané and Jamal Musiala got two goals each, while Thomas Müller also got on the scoresheet to leap to the top of the table.
