As expected, the final days of the transfer window are the most interesting ones, with clubs rushing to fill up the free spots in their teams. The biggest news of this weekend comes from the British Premier League club Manchester United who have signed several great reinforcements in the last few days.

The British club has reached an agreement with Leicester to sign their center-back Harry Maguire. The player will be undergoing medicals at Manchester United this weekend and after that, the clubs will continue toward finalizing the deal. If everything goes as planned, this contract will come at an astounding fee of $97.2 million which will be the largest amount paid for a defense player ever, setting a world record. So far, the record was held by Liverpool’s signing of Virgil van Dijk back in 2018 when they paid Southampton $91.1 million for the player.

The 26-year-old player will be the third player that joins Manchester United during this transfer window, after Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka.

Maguire started his professional career back in 2011 in the British club Sheffield United. During his career, he has made a total of 333 appearances in which he has managed to score 21 goals.
