Don’t be surprised if you see Hertha Berlin forward Salomon Kalou on U.S. stadiums in the near future.

Kalou recently made an appearance on The Crack Podcast, hosted by former US internationals DaMarcus Beasley and Oguchi Onyewu, and admitted that he would “love” to play in MLS.

“I [would] always love to play in the MLS. That’s something I always look forward to,” said Kalou. “I have to see if there is an opportunity there to play.”

According to Kalou, he almost made a move two years ago but ultimately decided to stay with Hertha.

“I was close to go to San Jose,” he added. “I talked to them, I think it was two years ago. I wanted to stay in Europe for another two years, that’s why I didn’t go then.”

Salomon Kalou is on an expiring contract, and considering that he only played five games with Hertha this season, it would be a big surprise if the German club offers him an extension. This enables him to choose his next destination freely, and if he opts for MLS, there is no doubt that there would be a lot of interest in his services.

Kalou made the biggest mark with Chelsea, where he scored 60 goals in 264 games and helped the team win Premier League title and UEFA Champions League trophy. He also played with Feyenoord and Lille, among other clubs.
