Argentinian international striker Gonzalo Higuain revealed to the media that moving to the MLS in September has reinvigorated his passion for soccer.

“I’ve always been curious about this league [MLS], after watching it closely because of my brother and other big players”, Higuain revealed to CBS. “But I wanted to come here with the intention of being happy to play again and I think Inter Miami gave me everything I needed.

Coming here to this league, gives me that feeling again, back when I was a kid enjoying playing, where in Europe I think that left me for many different reasons.”

The 32-year-old striker joined MLS newcomers Inter Miami CF in September on a free transfer, bringing an end to a troubling two-year spell at Serie A champions Juventus. Prior to joining Juventus, Higuain played for La Liga giants Real Madrid as well as Napoli.

While his tenures at Real Madrid and Napoli were both successful, Higuain struggled to break into the Juventus starting 11. His struggle to solidify a place in the squad led to the Argentinian national being loaned out to AC Milan in 2018 and then Chelsea a year later.

Now, in Miami, Higuain is a star at his new club and gets to play alongside his brother, Federico, who arrived at the club from FC Dallas earlier this month.
