Hirving Lozano’s time with Seria A side Napoli continues to be plagued with problems. According to ESPN, Lozano was asked to leave the team’s training session on Monday after reportedly showing a lack of effort.

Football Italia brought more details about the story, reporting that Lozano displayed an absence of concentration that caught the attention of Napoli’s manager Gennaro Gattuso. At one point, Gattuso decided to remove the 24-year-old winger from the training ground.

Napoli is currently preparing for Coppa Italia Finals match against Juventus, which is set to take place on Wednesday. They have previously beaten Inter 2-1 overall in semi-finals, with Lozano sitting on the bench in both games.

This latest turn of events means Hirving Lozano’s career with Napoli is in jeopardy. After an impressive couple of seasons with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, Lozano joined Napoli last summer in a transfer worth $46.5 million. He became the club’s highest-paid signing in history, while also being the most expensive Mexican player ever.

Although Lozano was regularly featured in Napoli’s starting lineup at first, things changed when the club decided to sack Carlo Ancelotti. Taking over as Ancelotti’s replacement, Gattuso showed little faith in the Mexican winger and has kept him on the bench for the better part of his managerial stint.

Considering everything, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Napoli decides to cut their losses this summer, especially if Gattuso remains at the helm. A possible way out for Lozano includes reuniting with Ancelotti at Everton, as the Italian manager is known to be a huge fan of his game and was the one who insisted on bringing him to Seria A.
