It looks like Houston Dynamo finally have a replacement for Wilmer Cabrera. According to longtime sportswriter Kristian Dyer, Dynamo hired longtime United States U-20 coach Tab Ramos to be their new manager.

Dynamo fired Cabrera in August after a series of bad results, which included seven losses in eight games. Assistant coach Davy Arnaud took over the team on an interim basis and finished on 10th place in Western Conference.

Ramos is a well-respected figure in the soccer world, as he managed to lead the U-20 team to three consecutive World Cup quarterfinals appearances while also serving an assistant with USMNT under Jurgen Klinsmann. He was linked with several managerial jobs in MLS over the years, but opted to remain with the national side.

Tab Ramos played as a midfielder during his professional career and spent time in Mexico, Spain, and the United States. He was the first player signed by MLS and ended up playing seven seasons in league with MetroStars (now New York Red Bulls).

Ramos also represented the U.S. on the international level, playing on three World Cups. He made a total of 81 appearances with the national side and scored eight goals in the process.
