Iga Swiatek once again showed why she’s the World’s No.1 tennis player. Swiatek beat Jasmine Paolini in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) in the 2024 French Open finals to capture her third straight Roland Garros title.

Swiatek needed just 69 minutes to wrap up her match against Paolini. After a shaky start that caused her to fell behind 1-2, Swiatek regained her composure and proceeded to win five straight games and give up just four points to take the first set.

Swiatek then raced to 5-0 lead in the second set before Paolini managed to win her third game of the match. But, this turned out to be all the Italian could muster as Swiatek took care of the business on her next serve.

With the win, Swiatek improved to four French Open titles and five Grand Slams in total. She became the first woman to win Roland Garros three straight times since Justine Henin did it between 2005 and 2007. Additionally, the only other woman who did the same in the Open Era was Monica Seles, who did it from 1990 to 1992.

The 2024 French Open will officially conclude on Sunday when Carlos Alcaraz faces Alexander Zverev in the men’s singles finals. It is the first time that both players have played in the finals of Roland Garros. Alcaraz is searching for his third Grand Slam, while Zverev is attempting to win his first major title.
