After starting the season with six straight wins and looking like Super Bowl contenders, the Tennessee Titans have now lost three straight and don’t even look like the best team in their division.

The Indianapolis Colts currently look like the team to beat in the AFC South after dismantling the Titans on Thursday night 34-17.

The Colts roster is very deep and doesn’t have many weak links, which enables them to win without having to rely on their veteran quarterback Philip Rivers to play dominant games. When Rivers is efficient and doesn’t turn the ball over, the Colts can win. And that’s exactly what happened against the Titans.

Rivers spread the ball around nicely all night, completing 29 of 39 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown while connecting with eight different receivers. Running back Nyheim Hines had one touchdown catch and another one on the ground.

The Titans were let down by their special teams play. Punter Trevor Daniel had one bad shank and one punt blocked and scooped up for a Colts touchdown. Kicker Stephen Gostkowski also had a costly 44-yard field goal miss.

The Colts will be facing the best team in the NFC North next week, the Green Bay Packers, while the Titans will travel to Baltimore to face the Ravens, who they were able to knock out of the playoffs last year on their way to the AFC Championship Game.
