Inter Miami has been in pursuit of several high-profile European stars in the past months, and it looks like they finally managed to land one. According to English outlet The Independent, Manchester City’s star midfielder David Silva is set to join Miami next summer.

Silva signed a one-year deal with Man City in June but stated that the 2019/20 will his last season with the club. He also added that he won’t be playing in Premier League anymore.

It is believed that Miami’s owner David Beckham managed to convince Silva to come to MLS and become the face of Inter. Besides appreciating Silva’s qualities as a player, Beckham also thinks that the Spaniard will spark an interest from the large Hispanic community in Florida.

Beckham previously approached several other European stars to play for Inter Miami including former Arsenal’s star Theo Walcott and Barcelona’s duo Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

David Silva spent his early career with Valencia, joining Manchester City in 2010. During his time with the club, he played 395 games and scored 70 goals, while establishing himself as one of the best playmakers in Europe. Silva, who is currently team’s captain, won 12 trophies with City including four Premier League titles.

Silva was also part of Spain’s national team which won FIFA World Cup in 2010 and UEFA European Championship in 2008 and 2012.
