Los Angeles Lakers are stockpiling point guards at this point, with the latest acquisition being Rajon Rondo, which ultimately means that there is no room on the team for Isaiah Thomas. Add the fact that Thomas didn’t get along with Lakers’ new superstar LeBron James when they were playing for Cleveland Cavaliers, and you can already see the 29-year-old packing his bags to leave LA. Next destination: Orlando.

According to multiple sources from around the league, Isaiah Thomas is negotiating a deal with Orlando Magic.

The belief is that Thomas will probably sign a one-year, $8.6 million deal with the Magic in order to try and land a more lucrative deal in the summer of 2019.

Two seasons ago, Isaiah Thomas was an All-Star player, who carried the Boston Celtics to the Eastern Conference Finals and finished fifth in the MVP voting. Then he suffered a hip injury, which sidelined him for six months, during which he was traded to the Cavaliers. He didn’t fit well with the Cavs’ and was then sent to the Lakers just before the trade deadline. All of this combined with Thomas’ below average performances made his value drop significantly and scared away teams from offering him a long-term contract.

This is why Magic might be the best fit for Isaiah Thomas at this moment in his career. He would probably be the team’s starting point guard and would have the freedom to showcase his offensive skills.
