Super Mario might soon make his appearance on MLS stadiums. According to the Italian media, striker Mario Balotelli is strongly considering joining LA Galaxy.

Balotelli has been without a club after being released by Seria A side Brescia back in June. The 30-year-old former Italy international has been in high demand since then but reportedly narrowed down his choices to Galaxy and Turkish powerhouse Besiktas.

While there is no doubt that Balotelli would be a great acquisition for Galaxy, there are some obstacles that stand in a potential deal. The glaring one is that the player would likely have big wage demands, something the club can’t offer him at the moment.

The only was the move would work if Galaxy decides to part ways with one of their three Designated Players. Getting rid of Chicharito Hernandez seems unlikely, considering he just joined the club, which would leave forward Cristian Pavon and midfielder Jonathan dos Santos as potential outs.

Mario Balotelli was once considered one of the best young strikers in the world, but his career hasn’t developed as many expected. His most recent successful stint was with Ligue 1 side Nice, with whom he scored 26 goals during the 2017/18 season.
