Veteran forward Jabari Parker will continue his career in Europe. Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague side Barcelona announced on Monday that it had signed Parker to a one-year deal.

Parker most recently played in NBA during the 2021-22 season when he made 12 appearances for the Boston Celtics and averaged 4.4 points and 2.3 rebounds per game. He was part of the Milwaukee Bucks summer league roster this offseason but failed to land a contract with the franchise.

Jabari Parker was the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Bucks, who took him one spot ahead of Joel Embiid. It was considered a no-brainer selection at the time, considering Parker averaged 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds during his freshmen year at Duke.

Unfortunately for Parker, his career in NBA never took off in the way many predicted. Injuries played a significant part in this, as he suffered two left knee ACL tears in his first three years in the league.

The Bucks decided not to offer him a contract extension after his rookie deal expired following the 2017-18 campaign, and he later spent time with the Chicago Bulls, the Washington Wizards, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Sacramento Kings before landing with the Celtics.

Parker managed to play only 310 games during his eight years in the NBA, averaging 14.1 points and 5.5 rebounds.
