Dutch midfielder Jackie Groenen has joined PSG, ending her tenure with the Manchester United women’s team, both clubs announced on Thursday.
“I’m very excited to be here. It’s a big change, a big step in my career,” Groenen exclaimed in an interview with the official PSG website after inking a three-year deal with the Parisian club.
During her time at Manchester United, Groenen played in 60 matches across all competitions, signing for the Red Devils from 1. FFC Frankfurt after a four-year tenure with the German side. She previously spent a season at Man Utd’s FA Women’s Super League rivals Chelsea.
Groenen revealed that she was taken aback by the club’s first impressions, explaining that she received a warm welcome from everybody at the club and that she is excited to represent “one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
“I’ve come here to win. I hope to win a lot of trophies this season, and I’m already very excited at the prospect of playing in the Champions League,” Groenen stated.
