Jags’ Owner Shad Khan Prepared to Give CB Jalen Ramsey a Record Contract

Although Jalen Ramsey played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in Thursday’s win over Tennessee Titans, the Pro Bowl CB hasn’t changed his mind about wanting to leave the organization. However, Jags are definitively having second thoughts about their readiness to let one of the best corners in the game leave out of the door.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Jaguars’ owner Shad Khan would like to see Ramsey stay in Jacksonville and would be ready to pay a steep price to make it happen. Rapoport reports that Khan would have no problem making him the highest-paid CB in the NFL.

“Also worth noting that owner Shad Khan loves Ramsey, would be willing, from what I understand, to pay him and make him the highest-paid cornerback in the NFL as soon as he possibly can,” – said Rapoport during his appearance on Good Morning Football.

It remains to be seen whether the big bucks will make Jalen Ramsey re-consider his decision at all. Also, team’s general manager Tom Coughlin and head coach Doug Marrone will have a word in this, and it is unclear if they are willing to put up with Ramsey’s antics anymore.

Ramsey publicly made a trade request to the team earlier this week, following a clash with Marrone and his overall dissatisfaction with the Jags front office. Jacksonville already engaged in talks with several teams, and are believed to be asking at least two first-round picks for the player.
