Jacksonville Jaguars continued their busy offseason on Friday, trading the second starter on defense in less than a week. Jags announced on their social media that they have traded safety Ronnie Harrison to Cleveland Browns in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

Harrison started 14 games for Jacksonville in 2019, putting up together a solid season which saw him rack up 71 tackles, 2.0 sacks, two interceptions, nine passes defended, and one fumble recovery. Still, Jaguars reportedly weren’t so high on him, believing he had several missteps last season that lead to opponents making big plays.

“Thank you Jacksonville. It’s been a great two years and I am very thankful for the Jaguars organization and the city of Jacksonville,” Harrison wrote on social media following the trade.

Harrison, who was a third-round pick in 2018, is expected to provide depth to the Browns’ secondary while also aiding in special teams formations. During two years in Jacksonville, he played 180 snaps as a special teamer.

Jaguars are now left with Jarrod Wilson as a starter at free safety, while 2017’s second-round pick Josh Jones and rookie Daniel Thomas are expected to take the majority of Harrison’s snaps.
