After spending a year out of football and in the broadcasting booth, Cowboys tight end Jason Witten has declared that he is preparing for a return to the NFL.

Witten, who has spent his entire playing career with the Dallas Cowboys, will return to Texas to play for the team that drafted him back in 2003.

Witten has had a distinguished career with the Cowboys since joining the league.

He has a litany of impressive career accomplishments, including having been named to the Pro Bowl on 11 occasions, including in 2017, the last year he played football.

He was also named an All-Pro selection twice with Dallas, in large part due to his amazing productivity on offense.

The University of Tennessee alum is currently fourth all-time in NFL history with 1,152 receptions.

Witten and the Cowboys have announced that the 6 foot 6 inch tight end is coming back on a one-year contract for $3.5 million.

Witten will look to provide a boost to QB Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense, which struggled at times last season finding production out of the tight end slot.

This might be Witten’s final season, and there would like to finish his career than with a Super Bowl championship.
