Jets’ HC Adam Gase Considers to Give up Play-Calling After 0-5 Start

New York Jets are currently enjoying their worst start of the season in three decades, being 0-5 in the first five weeks for the first time since 1996.

In order to get the Jets to winning ways, the team’s head coach Adam Gase is thinking about giving up play-calling to one of his assistants. According to the 42-year-old coach, this might help him manage games in a more efficient way from a head-coaching perspective.

“For the last four years, I’ve toyed with the idea every once in a while,” said Gase. “I don’t think I’m ever opposed to try something to change things up. I’d say everything is on the table at this point.”

Jets have been particularly struggling on the offensive side of the ball, which should be Gase’s specialty. Their offense scored 20 or more points in 2020 just once, a mark only equaled by their equally struggling crosstown rivals New York Giants.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that Adam Gase wants to mix things up, as he desperately needs his team to start winning games. Gates has been enjoying a poor run since he took over the Jets and is already on the hot seat. With one or two more losses, there is no doubt that he will be out of work.

Gase took over the Jets in 2019 and has since led them to a 7-14 record. He previously coached Miami Dolphins, with whom he went 23-25.
