After a successful three years in China, guard Jimmer Fredette attempted an NBA comeback towards the end of the last season by signing a deal with the Phoenix Suns. This didn’t turn out well, as the Suns declined his player option for 2019/20, making him a free agent. Fredette, however, isn’t ready to quit just yet as he will suit up for the Golden State Warriors during NBA Summer League.

The news was first reported by The Athletic, only to be confirmed by Warriors’ assistant general manager Larry Harris during Monday’s appearance on 95.7 The Game.

Golden State is facing some tough financial decision this summer, which includes trying to sign injured All-Stars Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson to max deals. If they managed to retain both players, they will have to fill out the roster with cheap rotational pieces, and Fredette might get a chance if he performs well during the Summer League.

During his stint with the Suns, Fredette played six games in which he averaged 3.7 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

Jimmer Fredette entered the league as the 10th overall pick in 2011 draft but failed to meet the high expectations as he struggled to adapt to NBA style of basketball. Following unsuccessful stints with Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls among other teams, Fredette decided to sign with China’s Shanghai Sharks.

In China, he managed to win numerous accolades including CBA International MVP award.
