Manchester City’s striker Julian Alvarez has been the subject of various transfer rumors in recent weeks, being linked with a move to La Liga powerhouse Real Madrid. However, it appears that Alvarez has no interest in leaving the Premier League just yet.

Alvarez has been in fine form this season, scoring 10 goals and adding nine assists in all competitions. This includes a brace in a 4-0 win over Fluminense that brought City its first Club World Cup trophy.

Despite this, there appears to be no clear path for Alvarez to be the first attacking option with City, considering the presence of Erling Haaland. Other clubs have taken notice of that and are ready to give him a more prominent role, with Real particularly interested in the 23-year-old Argentinean. The Spanish club lacks a formidable option in the striker position and believes Alvarez would be a great fit.

Addressing the transfer rumors in a recent interview, Alvarez said that he is happy at Man City and would like to stay with the club.

“The truth is that I am very happy at Manchester City,” Alvarez said. “I have been at the club for a little more than a year. I feel very happy with everything we have achieved.”

Julian Alvarez arrived to City in the summer of 2022 in a €21.4 million transfer from River Plate. Since then, Alvarez has made 75 appearances for the reigning Premier League champions and scored 24 goals to go with 17 assists.
