It appears that Jurgen Klopp doesn’t intend to spend the remainder of his managerial career with Liverpool.

Speaking with SWR Sport over the weekend, Klopp revealed that he will coach the Premier League side for four more years and then leave.

“Four years in Liverpool [and then] do nothing for a year,” said Klopp when asked about his plans for the future.

This timeline would see Klopp exit the club following the expiration of his current contract. Back in December, the German manager signed an extension with Liverpool that runs through the 2023/24 season.

However, Klopp explained that a lot of things could change by then.

“But in five years, the world can look very different,” he added.

Jurgen Klopp joined Liverpool in 2015 and has since re-established the club as a European powerhouse. He led the team to Champions League trophy last season and managed to win Premier League title this year. It was the first domestic league title for the club in 30 years.

So far, Klopp has 262 games as the manager of Liverpool and has 158 wins to go with 60 ties and 44 defeats.

Klopp previously spent seven years with Mainz 05, between 2001 and 2008, leading the club back to Bundesliga during his time there.  He then joined Borussia Dortmund for another seven-year stint, managing to win two consecutive Bundesliga titles with the club.
