Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly first in line to take over Juventus. The Seria A powerhouse is looking to replace current boss Maurizio Sarri and believe Pochettino is the best candidate for the job.

Sarri only joined Juve last summer and will most likely lead the club to another domestic title this season. However, the club hasn’t been dominant as in past years, and there are rumors that Sarri isn’t very popular in the locker room. Recent reports from Italy indicate that the 61-year-old manager is now on the hot seat and might leave Stadio delle Alpi after just one season.

It wouldn’t be the first time that Juventus parts ways with a winning manager. Antonio Conte left the club in 2014 after three consecutive Seria A titles, while Massimiliano Allegri was sacked after five straight domestic league trophies.

Turin media outlet La Stampa reports that Juventus already started looking for a new manager, and the team’s brass already had exploratory talks with Pochettino. The Argentinian has been without a job since November and wouldn’t mind getting back into the game soon.

Pochettino previously attracted interest from several clubs and was reportedly offered a job at Monaco last week. The 48-year-old manager decided to reject the opportunity, wanting to coach a team with a bigger profile. If it becomes available, Juve’s managerial spot certainly fits the bill.
