Serie A champions Juventus are another step closer to snatching up Barca superstar Luis Suarez. Early on Wednesday morning, Juventus agreed to the terms set out by FC Barcelona for the purchase of the Uruguayan striker. These terms include an upfront fee of €3 million up as well as a further €13 million set to be paid via bonuses.

According to former Barcelona director Ariedo Braida, Suarez has Juventus “DNA” and will be a perfect fit for the squad. He is also expected to be an effective partner up front for Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo.

New Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is reported to have informed Suarez that the player does not fit into his long-term plans for the squad. It’s believed that Koeman is looking to freshen up the squad with new, young talents.

Braida continued to explain his opinion on the potential transfer, stating, “I’m not surprised about his Barcelona exit because football is about cycles. Even Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid because he felt his time there was over. Suarez is a fighter and his battling spirit infects the rest of his teams. He has character and the DNA to play for Juventus and other big clubs.”

The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
