Seria A giants Juventus are struggling in 2022-23, having won just twice in seven games. This prompted the club to start their transfer activities earlier than expected, with Barcelona’s Jordi Alba emerging as one of their main targets.

Juve could use a boost on the left side, especially with Alex Sandro delivering disappointing performances this season and the club not having much past him on the depth chart. The Turin club is likely attracted to Alba due to his experience and affordability.

On the other hand, Barca wouldn’t mind seeing Alba leave Camp Nou as the 33-year-old lost his place in the starting lineup. With Marcos Alonso and Alex Balde manning the left side, Alba is the odd-man out, while moving him would also help the La Liga powerhouse’s financial situation.

It remains to be seen whether the move ends up happening. Jordi Alba, who has a contract with Barca until the summer of 2024, was reportedly close to a Seria A move last summer. Barca had an agreement with Inter Milan about a season-long loan for Alba, but the player rejected the move.

Alba arrived in Barcelona in a €14 million move from Valencia in 2012–13. Since then, he has made 433 appearances in all competitions and scored 25 goals. The Spain international also helped the club win five La Liga titles and one UEFA Champions League trophy.
