After a failed move for Barcelona’s Luis Suarez, Juventus turned to another proven marksman in order to boost their attack. According to multiple reports from Italy, Seria A powerhouse made a deal with AS Roma to sign Bosnian star striker Edin Dzeko.

Reportedly, Juve will pay close to $20 million for Dzeko, while the player should ink a two-year deal that will pay him around $9 million per year.

AS Roma was reluctant to sell Dzeko, their best player in recent years, but okayed the move after acquiring Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik from Napoli.

Edin Dzeko, who was Seria A’s top goalscorer in 2017, was a subject of interest from top Italian clubs in the past couple of seasons and was on the verge of joining Inter Milan last year. Roma convinced him to stay by giving him an improved deal, but there is nothing they could do this time as Dzeko wanted to play for a title contender.

Sources close to the club say that Juventus’ new manager Andrea Pirlo was especially high on Dzeko and pressed the front office to acquire him. The veteran striker is expected to slide in the starting lineup right away after Juve recently parted ways with Gonzalo Higuain.

Dzeko, who previously played with Wolfsburg and Manchester City among other clubs, joined Roma in 2015. Since then, he managed to score impressive 106 goals in 222 games in all competitions.
