It appears that Minnesota United won’t have their star winger Kevin Molino back for the 2021 MLS season.

Molino, who is currently out of a contract, went on social media on Wednesday to say his goodbye to the organization he called home for the past four years.

In the message posted on Instagram, the 30-year-old star wished the club “all the best” and said he is embarking “on to another chapter now.”

Molina had one of his best seasons as a pro in 2020, scoring nine goals and dishing four assists in the regular season. He kept the impressive display going in the playoffs as well, scoring four goals and being the main reason why the Loons made it to the Western Conference Finals.

Minnesota made it their priority to re-sign Kevin Molino this offseason and have reportedly offered him the biggest deal they could. But even that doesn’t look to be enough, and Molino will most likely continue his career outside the MLS.

Molino spent the better part of his professional career in the United States, joining Orlando City in 2011. He was traded to Minnesota ahead of the franchise’s inaugural season in 2017 for a then-record $650,000 in allocation money.

Molino played 67 games for Minnesota, scoring 21 goals in total and contributing 19 assists.
