Kylian Mbappe is reportedly pushing for a shocking Paris Saint-Germain exit just months after signing a new deal with the club. According to multiple reports, Mbappe is disappointed with how things are going in PSG and wants to leave the Ligue 1 champions in January.

PSG brass is aware of Mbappe’s feelings but doesn’t want to let him leave, especially not in the January transfer window. There is hope among the club’s hierarchy that the relationship with the start French forward can still be salvaged.

Kylian Mbappe was close to leaving PSG in the summer as a free agent and reportedly had a deal worked out with LaLiga powerhouse Real Madrid. Mbappe ended up changing his mind at the last moment and stayed in France. In return, PSG reportedly agreed to make him the highest-paid player in the world and give him a say in personal and roster decisions.

The club honored several of Mbappe’s requests, like firing sporting director Leonardo and head coach Mauricio Pochettino. However, it has been reported that the 23-year-old player feels like PSG didn’t fulfill all promises, including hiring Zinedine Zidane as Pochettino’s replacement and getting rid of fellow forward Neymar Jr.

PSG’s director Luis Campos, who was hired this summer with Mbappe’s blessing, denied the reports when asked about them on Tuesday.

“Mbappé has never told me or Nasser Al Khelaifi that he wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in January,” Campos said. “Is Mbappé happy here? You should ask him, it’s a serious question. I see him working as a top professional”.

If Mbappe ends up leaving PSG, Real Madrid is still viewed as a viable option. However, it is believed that the French club would be reluctant to let him leave for Santiago Bernabeu, considering the strained relationships between the two sides. Premier League giants Liverpool are expected to enter Mbappe’s sweepstakes as well if they believe they have an opportunity to land him.
