Down 2-0 to the Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers needed to do something drastic to re-establish themselves in the series.
They did just that, immediately jumping to an 11-run lead in the first inning and eventually winning the game 15-3.
While Atlanta still has a 2-1 lead, the Dodgers have all of the momentum going into Game 4. Not only do they have the momentum after crushing the Braves in Game 3 they are also getting back their star pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who is coming back from a minor injury and is expected to start in Game 4.
The 15 runs scored by the Dodgers were the most that the team has scored in a playoff game in its history, topping the 13 runs they scored in Game 3 of the NLDS in 2013.
With their bats finally waking up, the Dodgers are heading into Game 4 and the rest of the series with a clear pitching advantage as well.
Los Angeles has a slew of starters they can rely on, not just Kershaw, but Walker Buehler, Dustin May, and Tony Gonsolin, who were all excellent starters throughout the regular season.
