Los Angeles Galaxy finally landed their man. Galaxy confirmed on Thursday that they have signed Argentinian forward Cristian Pavon on a loan deal from Boca Juniors.

Galaxy tracked Pavon for a couple of months, but the deal seemed dead last week as Boca wanted too much money for the player.  Still, the two sides managed to come up with an agreement that ended up bringing the 23-year-old to MLS.

According to The Athletic, Pavon joins Galaxy on a free loan until the end of the season. After that, the team will have an option to either purchase the player on a permanent basis or to extend his loan until 2021.

“Cristian is a young and dynamic attacking addition who has the talent to be one of the most effective offensive players in Major League Soccer,” – said LA Galaxy general manager Dennis te Kloese. “He is a high-caliber player who will be a valuable piece to our roster moving forward. By providing him with a stable environment and a coach he knows well, we are confident that he can continue to grow and improve as a player within our club. We are extremely excited to add him to our squad and look forward to his contributions with the LA Galaxy.”

Before landing with LA Galaxy, Cristian Pavon was linked with several European clubs who expressed interest to bring him in this summer. One of them was French side Bordeaux, who reportedly even entered in an initial conversation with Boca.

Pavon joined Boca in 2014 and managed to score 21 goals in 80 matches since then. He also made 11 appearances with the Argentina national team.
