The Los Angeles Rams quarterback is deepening his ties with the city of LA. On Friday, Stafford was unveiled as one of the new members of the NWSL side’s investment team.

The NFL star decided to bring his whole family into the business with his wife Kelly and the pair’s daughters also being listed as investors.

“We fell in love with attending an Angel City game last season and wanted our daughters to experience something so important and powerful first-hand,” said Matthew and Kelly Stafford in a joint statement.

Angel City already has a number of high-profile investors. Besides the initial group that consisted of actress Natalie Portman, tennis star Serena Williams, and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, the list also includes former NFL center Ryan Kalil, actress Gabrielle Union, WNBA star Candace Parker, and former U.S. international Mia Hamm.

Angel City played its inaugural season in NWSL in 2022. The team finished with an 8-5-9 record, missing out on playoffs. But despite the lackluster performances, Angel City was a huge draw for the soccer fans in LA. The team averaged 19,105 fans per home game, which led the NWSL and made them the first team to reach the mark since Portland Thorns.
