Despite recently making a big trade for Russell Westbrook and adding a number of players via free agency, the Los Angeles Lakers are not done putting together their roster. According to Yahoo Sports’ Chris Haynes, the Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka would like to get another point guard and a wing on the team.

When it comes to point guards, the Lakers reportedly have their eyes on two-time All-Star Isaiah Thomas. The 32-year-old player already had a workout with the team last week and is extremely interested in the move. This would mark a return to Los Angeles for Thomas, as he spent part of the 2017/18 season with the franchise.

Thomas last played with the New Orleans Pelicans, averaging 7.7 points and 1.7 assists in three games in 2020/21.

Besides Thomas, the Lakers are also looking into adding former Indiana Pacers guard Darren Collison and veteran Mike James.

The name that came up frequently for the Lakers in the wing conversation has been free-agent James Ennis. The move makes sense considering that the Lakers need shooting, and Ennis had an impressive shooting season with the Orlando Magic in 2020/21.

In 41 games with Magic, Ennis averaged 8.4 points while adding 4.0 rebounds. He made 43.3 percent of his three-point attempts while taking 2.5 shots behind the arc per game.

It remains to be seen if the Lakers end up pulling the trigger at any of these moves, or they end up turning to other options to fill their roster.
