The Los Angeles Lakers are in the process of negotiations with Tyronn Lue. This could place Lue as the franchise’s next head coach, which was leaked by league sources.

Lue, who is 42 years old has still not accepted the offer but sources say that both sides are focusing on the parameters of the contract. Also, the sources say that if Lue accepts the offer and takes the job, the former coach of the Orlando Magic team and the Indiana Pacers, could be joining him as a lead assistant. There is a possibility that Kurt Rambis, a former Lakers coach and player whose wife Linda is an adviser to the owner of the Lakers, Jeanie Buss, has a significant role in the process.

Tyronn Lue has played as a point guard for the Nebraska Cornhuskers and from there he was selected by the Denver Nuggets during the NBA Draft of 1998’s first round. After that they traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. Lue has coached the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James during two and a half seasons.

The Los Angeles Lakers planned to hire Monty Williams for the position of a head coach, but he was hired by the Phoenix Suns last Friday, scrapping their plan.
