According to ESPN, 19-year-old draft prospect LaMelo Ball held an individual workout with coaches and executives from the Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, and Detroit Pistons in attendance on Thursday. This move is believed to be a tactic to provide the point guard with a favorable impression going into the NBA Draft on November 18.

Projected to be the number one draft pick this year, the 6 foot 7 Ball previously held a private training session in front of the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Warriors, Hornets, and Pistons each have draft pick No. 2, 3, and 7 respectively, while the Timberwolves have the first pick of the evening.

In addition to hosting workout sessions, Ball has spent a considerable amount of time conducting interviews with the aforementioned teams, along with the Chicago Bulls. He also completed a full NBA medical exam, as required by league protocol before entering into the draft.

The Pistons’ attendance at Ball’s latest training session has fueled the rumors that the Detroit-based team will do whatever it takes to seize a preferable draft pick. Currently holding the number 7 spot, it is unlikely that Ball will still be available when their turn comes around on the night.
