A new NFL season is gearing up, and teams are doing all they can to make themselves as formidable as possible. Thankfully, now they have the option of signing longtime veteran Pro-Bowler Larry Fitzgerald. This is because the wide receiver is now a free agent—for the first time ever in his career.

Although Fitzgerald hasn’t told the public where he plans to go this season, we have reason to believe that he won’t be returning to Arizona. Much of this speculation is based on the Cardinals’ recent signing of receiver AJ Green.

Not only that, but Arizona also has DeAndre Hopkins and Christian Kirk on their roster, meaning that their need for Fitzgerald’s services is dwindling by the second. It’s not that they wouldn’t love to have the option of using him, it’s that they probably wouldn’t be able to pay him enough money.

Considering Fitzgerald’s amazing resume, he might be able to get a better deal with another team. Even though he’s not as close to the player he once was, he’ll undoubtedly be an asset to wherever he goes, from his ability on the field to his veteran leadership and locker room presence.

It’s unclear where Fitzgerald may have his sights set on, but chances are he’ll go for a team that he believes has a strong chance to win a title.
