Veteran wideout Larry Fitzgerald is set to return to the Arizona Cardinals’ lineup this week. Considering the fact that they’ve struggled lately, losing their last two games, Fitzgerald’s return can only be interpreted as good news to them.

The 37-year-old veteran is returning to the active roster for this week after spending the previous 12 days on COVID-19/Reserve list.

The team announced the move on Tuesday.

There is no confirmation on whether Fitzgerald will immediately suit up for the Cardinals against the NY Giants on Sunday, but head coach Kliff Kingsbury sounds like he would certainly love for this to happen.

“He is a tremendous leader and presence for us, obviously,” Kingsbury recently told reporters. “He brings a level of confidence because of what he’s accomplished and what he can do on the field, there’s no doubt.”

Larry Fitzgerald hasn’t been as productive for Arizona as in some previous years, having 43 receptions for only 336 yards while failing to catch a single touchdown pass. He is also averaging a career-low 7.8 yards per catch.

But despite this, Fitzgerald is still an important piece in the Cardinals offense and locker room due to his reliability and veteran leadership. This is why his return could finally see Arizona step up and go back to their winning ways.
